Poetry Prompts #6

Both the end of the world and Emmett Till have been getting a lot of attention again recently. Below are two prompts we did in our Zoom workshops in 2020.

Read “I saw Emmett Till this week at the grocery store” by Eve L. Ewing

• Make a list of 10 things you wish never happened

• Write a poem about what it would be like if one of those things actually didn’t happen

Read “A Song on the End of the World” by Czesław Miłosz

• Make a list of 10 things you worried about for a long time

• Write a poem about what happened if/when the thing you worried about happened
