Hey, I don’t talk too much about my own poetry here, but the occasion demands it. I have a new chapbook published from Bottlecap Press - lonely line breaks: ChatRQT.
All of the poems in this book were written because ChatGPT said I had already written them. From the introduction:
I have been asking ChatGPT, the Artificial Intelligence chatbot from Open AI, about myself and my poetry. In response, it will say some factual things, but when I ask about my poems, it makes up—seemingly endless—titles and synopses. Some of these include:
"Ode to My Bitch Face" - a poem that celebrates the power and independence of a woman who is often mistaken for being angry or unapproachable.
"The First Time I Kissed a Boy" - a poem that reflects on the fear and uncertainty that can accompany a person's first same-sex romantic encounter.
"How to Seduce a Straight Guy in 10 Easy Steps" - a humorous and subversive poem that takes aim at the idea that straight men are inherently more desirable and powerful than gay men.
So I used the dozens of poems it attributed to me as writing prompts, writing the pieces it said I had already written. And now they are collected here, in one easy-to-hold book!
I would be delighted if you ordered one for $10 (https://bottlecap.press/products/chatrqt) and then read it with your eyehearts.
I’ll share more soon but I wanted to let you know that I made the thing as soon as the thing was made!
