The Zoom workshop on 4.20.23 was dedicated entirely to the memory of Danny Solis. Danny had been a past participant in the workshop and helped shape part of what it’s become. But much larger than that, he was one of the writer/performers that shaped the early days (and therefore all the days) of poetry slam. Through his work and his friendships, he was a mirror that magnified small details to a size more appropriate of their importance, good and bad. He was 63 but still had some intimidating triceps. He is missed terribly.
